Trash Tuesday from Turkey - this week's edition

Another beautiful day, another beautiful bay.

We anchored in a very beautiful cove last evening very close to last weeks Trash Tuesday bay. Since then we have been south as far as Kekova and are now heading back towards Gocek.

This cove is very close to Cold Water Bay and Gemiler Adasi. At Cold Water Bay (which can be seen in the panorama image) there were probably 12 yachts anchored last evening and at Gemiler a similar number together with a few gulets. In this little spot there were only ourselves and a lovely Scottish family on their monohull.

Thankfully the tiny beach and small cove only yielded 1 black bin bag of plastic trash this morning, so it's well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Sadly the bay next to it was covered in plastic trash - too much for us to carry and we hope that the Turkish people will take it upon themselves to get the gulets and day tripper boats to clean up after themselves and to start some sort of clean up operation in the area. The Turkish people rely greatly on waterborne tourism in the vicinity of Olu Deniz and it is in their interest to make sure their coastline is free of trash.
